Diet for Diabetes

Ensure the food and drink you consume is based on your age, gender, how active you are and the goals you’re aiming for. Remember that no single food contains all the essential nutrients your body needs. A healthy diet is all about variety and choosing different foods from each of the main food groups every day. Choosing foods rich in fibres and consuming food with low carbohydrates will help manage blood-glucose levels. When it comes to foods, also look out for Glycemic Index (GI). Foods with High GI can increase blood-glucose levels, while low GI foods have the least effect on blood sugar. Portion controlling can also help with maintaining a healthy weight. A diabetic diet doesn’t have to be complicated and you don’t have to give up all your favourite foods
